On November 1, Dan Truong’s 30-year anniversary live concert took place at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi), attracting widespread attention from fans. Among the highlights, the performance of “Dong Mau Lac Hong” with his son Mathis Thien Tu drew particular interest, as the father and son appeared on stage riding horses.
Performance of a lifetime in an inspirational space
On the evening of November 1, at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Hoi, Dong Anh, Hanoi), the live concert “30 years of Dan Truong – Marks of youth” took place in a lively atmosphere from the moment fans began arriving at the venue. The program had been prepared over a long period, drawing a large audience from multiple provinces. Alongside the main stage, several cinema clusters in Tuyen Quang, Vinh, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, and Ca Mau also broadcast the concert live for fans to follow.

Opening with an aerial rope act, Dan Truong brought powerful energy with the medley “Buoc Chan Le Loi.” He then continued to energize the stage alongside the dance troupe with “Co Ai Ep Ta Yeu Ho Dau.” For the singer, each performance is a piece of the three-decade story he tells through music, memories, and his growth in the profession.

Expressing gratitude to the audience and the composers who have accompanied him for 30 years, the 1976-born singer emotionally shared: “I cherish every moment on this stage. After days of rain, sometimes the raindrops mixed with my tears. I once thought I would quietly pursue my career forever. But the love of the fans is the motivation that keeps me going.”
An emotionally explosive father–son moment on the horseback
The most special highlight of the live concert was the meaningful collaboration between Dan Truong and his son, Mathis Thien Tu. Dressed in outfits with an epic flair, the father and son rode horses onto the stage amid cheers from tens of thousands of fans. The image created a rare moment, evoking pride and touching the emotions of many.

As the melody of “Rise for You – Dong Mau Lac Hong” filled the air, the harmony between the two generations created a powerful yet warm atmosphere. Thien Tu followed his father closely through every line, while Dan Truong beamed beside his son, as if discovering a connection between his artistic ideals and family values.

According to the production team, Mathis Thien Tu had arrived in Vietnam several days earlier to rehearse with his father. Despite his young age, he demonstrated composure on the large stage, showing that he has inherited his father’s artistic energy. For Dan Truong, this was not just a special performance but also a reward for the dedication he has given to both his music and his family over the years.
Collaborations evoking memories from the three-decade career
Beyond the performance with his son, Dan Truong revisited a series of beloved hits such as “Ngoi Sao Bay,” “Bien Nguoi Nhan Gian,” “Anh Phai Lam Sao,” “Nguoi Don Phuong Yeu Ke Don Phuong,” and “Thanh Xuan Cua Toi.” Each lyric transported the audience back to a vibrant era of Vietnamese music, filled with unforgettable memories.

One of the most anticipated duets was the collaboration between Dan Truong and Cam Ly in the new song “Con Mua Mua Dong” (composed by Minh Vy). Maintaining their familiar chemistry, the two artists created a deeply moving atmosphere. Cam Ly shared that their three-decade-long partnership has endured because of the audience’s love and their mutual compatibility.

The stage also featured many young artists, including Hoa Minzy, Trung Quang, Quoc Thien, Rhyder, and rapper Den. Each collaboration brought its own unique color, creating a continuous emotional flow for the audience. Notably, Den’s story of having once crafted a wooden sword to mimic Dan Truong’s performance in “Phong Ba Tinh Doi” made the crowd first laugh, then fall silent in appreciation of his sincerity.

A milestone ending in pride and appreciation
Despite prolonged rain, tens of thousands of fans stayed through to the end of the program, braving the weather. Their presence brought Dan Truong to tears several times as he looked down at the audience. For him, the greatest achievement after 30 years is not numbers or awards, but the enduring love and trust of multiple generations.

Producer Hoang Tuan, representing the organizers, shared that this project had been prepared over many years, with countless details carefully planned. In addition to the live audience at the venue, 7,000 viewers at cinema clusters nationwide also contributed to making the night a complete experience.

The “Marks of Youth” live concert concluded with prolonged applause. For Dan Truong, it was both a milestone to reflect on three decades of his journey and a foundation to continue dedicating himself in the years ahead. The moment of riding horses with his son while performing “Dong Mau Lac Hong” will be remembered as one of the most unforgettable images in the career of the 7X-born singer.
